The Hidden Trap of Atonement

Atonement or is it really ‘at-one-ment’? The classic cliché right? Bored now. Atonement is a setup directly sourced from the martyrdom cycle and the false light. It places us directly in front of the self-judgment mirror. Happy thought right? Nice place to live? It can be when we are willing to truly let go and walk away.

The upcoming Libra Equinox highlights our relationship with the Source that we truly are. All relationships do this, but this Equinox puts the dynamic squarely in the spotlight. We and we are center stage, idols and ideals coming face to face.

What might we have idolized that keeps us from living our hearts’ deepest yearnings? Some idolize enlightenment to the point where it becomes an unreachable star… then write songs about it. Is pursuing an allegedly impossible dream truly heroic, or something our minds have made up? And we know what happens when we make up our minds about something. We’ve heard it before. Choosing to push a boulder up a mountain requires the creation of heavy things and a high place. What if we just have a preference for the high place and could simply hang out there?

“Where’s the fun in that? Where’s the challenge?” screams or whispers the voice of the old cycle. Yawn. There are other ways, bigger and brighter challenges. This Equinox offers a new palette of possibility. Why not choose anew?

Does at-one-ment really require making amends, repairing damages, making reparation for every so-called mistake we may have ever made? The trap says “yes.” Or we could relax into the truth of our Essence and move with, from, and as that. Talk about a challenge! Too many of us try to do both, atone and simultaneously move on. Some call this applying both the gas and the brakes at the same time. It does work a bit like that, if you enjoy spinning.

When we disallow ourselves a certain vibration because of imagined unworthiness or undeserving, we effectively shoot ourselves in the foot. Tough climbing. Ouch. And it never ends… until we embody another way.
