“Labor Day” Weekend

What an intriguing concept and how is this concept of labor transforming?

One of my partners used to go all revolutionary “Che” at this time. Red cap, grapes and power to the people. Labor also references childbearing and having to push through, whether it is a new life or some other form of infancy birthing. Does “hard labor” give a birth more value? In an emerging cycle of ease and flow, does labor, in its antiquated concepts and definitions, have a place? I doubt anyone will even consider re-printing the Oxford English dictionary, or updating Wikipedia. Still, it gives one pause {paws}.

All political “stuph” aside, and with no intent to denigrate the recognition due to those who toil to keep this world afloat, what does “labor” really mean? If we love what we do, is it labor? What is a “labor of love” exactly? Why that label and not another? I once watched a groundskeeper dig a garden trench in 100 degree heat, completely at peace, radiating happiness and joy that he could work with the land, and also feed his family. Was it labor? I suppose it doesn’t matter, as labor is only a word, and in English, to boot.

What words will we use going forward? It feels as though those dictionaries may need updating after all, once the shift settles a bit. Right now we need to let it. Settle, that is, within and around us. It is a good moment to give pause a chance. {grins}

What if this Labor Day weekend {in the US} is a perfect moment to rest in the quickly-flowing current of grace that stillness actually is.. Someone recently told me that stillness feels boring. Hmm. They may have meant stagnation, which is not the same thing at all. Have we failed to notice that, while holding a yoga pose or martial stance in stillness, our muscles and nerves are working like mad… until the flow of stillness takes over? We are immersed in a new way of being that our minds have yet to comprehend. Perhaps they never will.

What will we make of the cosmic pause before the Equinox? We are in it, innit? What will we choose to matter, which will then, inevitably, manifest? Will we let cosmic flow make things easy? Sometimes seemingly effortless? Ever had a day when things just flowed? What had to be accomplished went smoothly and with little or no fuss? What if cycle-shifting efforts are now happening inwardly and without much ado. Or maybe with galactic level fanfare. It really does depend, largely, on our preferences. Preferences, but not control.

The old ways of doing have ended. Enjoy the pause {paws}. Sometimes, Roshini joins me in writing. ;)

Have a great weekend.

~Infinite love,
Nalini
