Looped Learning: Are We Complete?
We are in the window of the full moon / eclipse in Pisces, forming on the 7th, Sunday, for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. We are traversing our most deeply held spiritual or metaphysically structured belief systems, thought patterns and habits of behavior. Do look up! Look up from the traditional texts, the grindstone that has held the attention of your dear little nose, and from any straight and narrow paths that parts of you may feel compelled to march along. The truth is simple. Nothing is as it used to be.
For each of us, without exception, the karmic loops we have been immersed in for this lifetime and perhaps many others are completing. These completions take every possible form. The transition is not about dotting ‘i’s, crossing ‘t’s, removing every last dust bunny, or scouring every facet of our personal jewel to shiny perfection. It has nothing whatsoever to do with any conception of perfection ever imagined.
The Great Mother has gifted me lately with glimpses, flashes of insight as to what is transpiring in these halls of learning we now inhabit. One such flash contained a view of Earth as a large system of concentric, nested, and interwoven bubbles of clear light, each artisanally crafted and populated with various learning experiences. Most were exquisitely crafted, though not at all enticing. Many were shredded and looked a bit the worse for wear. A wave of cosmic frequency illuminates and dissolves each and all of these orbs. The shredding seems to be a symptom of what is being clung to, rather than any kind of leftover karmic retribution. Does that even exist? Did it ever, truly?
Karmic patterns have been showing themselves as the nested loops they were designed to be. These are the patterns we moan about, having done “so much work” that, surely, their structures and content must have been dealt with by now! And yet, alongside and interwoven with these looping patterns, lie coping mechanisms and workarounds whose existence depends upon these structures staying in place. In other words, the tools and behaviors we may have used to manage our karmic lessons now aid and abet their continuance. First, we groan, then we laugh out loud. Letting go is key.
When is a karmic loop no longer a karmic loop? What does its completion entail? We are finding out, each of us in our own fashion. First, we see the pattern in as much of its entirety as we are able. Then, we surrender it for the gazillionth time. Then, we choose and commit to resolution and completion. What if resolution requires a fresh perspective? What if our lenses of perception could be cleansed?
What if I missed something? What if this completion doesn’t work for me? What if that is the voice of the ego clinging to vestiges of obsolete control? What the role of ‘you’ can ‘do’ is rest in the clear light and take responsibility for learning to manage your mind. “Mind observing mind” is a Buddhist tool used to manage, and eventually dissolve, even the tricksiest and most talented ‘monkey.’ Its antics don’t matter. They do not need to manifest. This is a lifelong practice from which there is no graduation. And even this tool is changing. The lesson of fluidity is simple. Acknowledge. Accept. Let go. Drop into feeling and let your light lead. Maybe stay there. Clarity does, in truth, exist.
As to the deep, completing karmas? Hard to ignore, aren’t they? Was ignorance ever the best strategy? What were these patterns showing us? What lesson lay beneath the waves?
One insight from these observations was a fresh perspective on why we entered this world in the first place. What if certain lessons only play out here? Certain lessons exist here. Full stop. This is the game, and the game is changing. So are we. Ready or not.
What if the compulsion to help anything or anyone else only ever pertained to the singularity we call ourselves? What if every system or path has been designed to broaden an experience that ultimately leads to integration?
It is said, and quite often written, that all roads lead home. What if this is because we are that safe, sacred embodiment and have only misplaced that truth? One might comment, “Duh.” Anything we may have perceived as obvious is now showing its undergarments. What will new perspectives show? {or sow}
Enjoy the full moon eclipse! Much ado about everything.
