One Persistent Dream

We all have them. The one shiny, luminous carrot that feeds our heart’s longing and keeps us wishing and aspiring. And, it might surprise us to discover that the dreams of those with whom we associate are often quite similar. We love the same things. We vibrate similarly and, therefore, feel comfortable with one another. This is how reality functions. What resonates? What vibrates with joy? Vibrational parity is the foundation of all things relational. Weaving a new reality is accomplished through shifting the frequencies with which we align and vibrating differently.

What if a persistent dream is joy’s antidote to all of the have-tos of life?

Joseph Campbell is famous for writing “Follow your bliss.” That concept has spawned tsunamis of criticism, mostly from the ‘yabbuts,’ the but-but birds, and the pooh-pooh monsters in our lives. Be all the noise as it may, what is your one persistent dream? What secret heart yearning have you held close for a lifetime?

Money is often the backbone and the bane of such dreams, as the human mind is conditioned to think “If I only had enough money, then I could…” so money becomes the facilitator of all things. But is it? Yes, this symbol for flow is required in this world at this time to ‘do’ anything. Or so our world has been engineered to function. We can’t wish this away. We can, however, use a different operating system.

Have we made the choice? “ I choose this,“ whatever that choice might be. Then, having made a choice, is that choice worth a commitment? Our bodies always know. And, if so, are we following through on the commitment? All paths begin with an impulse and an idea that is felt rather than merely thought.

We can stop feeding the systems that exhaust us and learn to feed what lights us up and brings us joy. We can stop pushing. We are so conditioned to push! To stop can feel counter-productive. Have you ever thought, “So what?” Do the human collective’s ideas about productivity hold that much weight with me that I am willing to use them to kill my Spirit?

We don’t often think in these terms because we have been conditioned not to.

When we can relax into our own flow and let it guide and carry us, we drift out of the hamster-wheel version of life and reality we have been sold. Sometimes we become busier than ever! But first, we learn to feed what feeds us, first. This win-win paradigm is how nature functions. There is an underlying harmony to life that we have been taught to ignore.

Perhaps this harmony is what our deepest dreams hold. A version of life that we can joyfully feed, that feeds us as well. The threads of its tapestry are ever-present when we learn to recognize their inherent luminosity.

We love dream catchers because of their alleged ability to catch bad dreams. What if we are the dream catchers of a new way?

What if we are the re-design of dreaming? What if we are able to weave something wonderful? Why not begin today?

“…the readiness is all…” ~ Hamlet

The Equinox is approaching. What might we dream as part of its unfolding? Why not let joy light the way?

Happy dreaming! ~ Infinite love,
